Re-entry

  • Possibly the strongest of the re-entries found on the Rose Carmine shades.
  • Doubling in the lower left and the left 3. Minor doubling in the lower right. There is strong doubling in the 16 area between 4 and 5 o'clock around the cameo area. In the upper right, the ball is doubled as are the G and E of POSTAGE.
  • A Project for someone interested.......it would be very interesting to find this CPV on a shade(s) other than the Rose Carmines of 1888-89.
  • An earlier (Montreal) shade would indicate that the plates used to print the Rose Carmine shade were previously used in Montreal.
  • A later (2nd Ottawa) shade would indicate that the plates used to print the Rose Carmnie shade were subsequently used in Ottawa.
